We are working with children and young adults who struggle to breathe with a system of oral appliances and therapy.This is a non-invasive treatment option for sleep disordered breathing, snoring, and mild to moderate sleep apnea.
When children can breathe properly, they can begin to grow, learn, and blossom into their full potential.
Dr. Shebani
Dr. Shebani and Dr. Kim will begin with an initial consultation to determine if you’re a candidate for any of these appliances and provide the best recommendation for your child. They will evaluate their cranial asymmetry, oral habits, tooth and tongue positioning, swallowing patterns, and other concerns to understand the relationship between their cranial bones and mandible. Besides a visual examination, a CT scan, images, and impressions may be needed.
ALF “Advanced Lightwire Functional”
This appliance is used to expand the jaw laterally and anteriorly with a more natural approach to growth and development. It uses light force to progressively shift the maxilla. The ALF is beneficial in many ways like opening nasal and oral airway spaces, promotes proper tongue positioning to encourage good breathing and midfacial development and can reduce the risk of sleep apnea.
The ALF is comfortable, easy to clean and almost invisible to observers. The goal of ALF therapy is to improve overall wellness and function of the entire patient.
JFO “Jaw Functional Orthopedics”
This treatment is a foundational approach to developing proper jaw size and creating optimal space for the tongue, teeth and creating beautiful faces and airways. Please be aware, this treatment does not straighten teeth like traditional orthodontics, but focuses more on bone growth & development. These techniques are gentle by stimulating bone growth, building jaw/airway/tongue space, optimize TMJ health and allow for optimal spacing for teeth.
Aligners
Your clear aligners are created using industry-leading technology based on your custom treatment plan. These aligners apply gentle, constant force, improve control of tooth movement, comfort and fit snugly around your teeth. Aligners are more comfortable and less painful than braces. Clear aligners that are discreet and don’t interrupt your life!
Unbelievable experience. Not only is the office perfect for children in an amazing environment, Dr. Shebani is very patient and knowledgeable. My only criticism is that they don’t accept adults as patients!
